Be careful to observe the polarity of the thermocouple before disconnecting it. Thermocouple wiring is color coded red and yellow. Red is negative and yellow is positive. Connecting the thermocouple with the colors reversed will show temperature decreasing when it is actually increasing. Thermocouple is 8 inches in length.
