It would have lived in the smoko area, the one corner of a working factory where the machinery stopped and the people were just people. The factory on Arthurton Road operated under the Purnell Shoe Company name by the 1970s, manufacturing footwear until cheap imports closed it down. Part of the Northcote Shoe Factory series.
